Chicken a la King

  • 1 tablespoon margarine
  • 1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper, to taste, to taste
  • 1 (12 oz.) can PET® Evaporated Milk
  • 2 cup cooked, cubed chicken
  • 1(10 oz.) package frozen pea pods, thawed


  • Melt margarine in a large skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms, green pepper and onion cooking and stirring until tender.
  • Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Slowly add evaporated milk, cooking and stirring constantly until sauce thickens.
  • Stir in chicken and pea pods. Cook and stir mixture until heated through. Serve over toast points, rice or noodles.
